my first setup

not sure about HU either but the type Rs will run close to 400 with an amp. Unless he went with one 12 and amp for like 300. He should search the classifieds for a single 12 or two tens. I personly think a 15 wont be worth the effort.

There are plenty of good subs in the $100-150 range. My advice is do it right the first time, and you wont have to keep adding money on (unless you become addicted to caraudio)

My recommendation:

1 10" or 12" Alpine Type R (Dual 2ohm)- $130

1 of these http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=382

-As for a box, look into buying a decent MDF box. I know there are sellers on ebay who sell some decent MDF boxes for pretty cheap (around 50)

Wire the sub to 4 ohms... set ur gains right, and it should power that Type R quite nicely. No cap is needed, but running a Big 3 (look at the sticky) wouldnt hurt, so buy some extra 4 guage wire and a few terminals and screws. This should put you around your $400 mark. Of course there other options but this is my quick suggestion

I'm totally with CJ on this one.. Great setup at a great price.. Could even probably go with 2 CVR 10s (dual 4) and keep everything else the same

mmkay. well, i think im gonna go with two 12" type Rs. i mean, youre right, a fifteen would be a *****hh to fit in the back of the camaro. and my camaro isnt a t-top...its just going in the little ass trunk space

haha, the guys at one of the car audio shops around here (mobile millenia) told me theyd build me a custom box, gimme 2 12" memphis subs and a RMS 500w memphis amp, wiring, the whole deal for like $700...and thats givin me a deal. haha, i was like "**** off". i mean, im not sayin they were tryin to rip me off, but that store was a bit expensive.

im just gonna get a seperate battery for my system.

and the guys at mobile millenia said that it dont matter what i put in my car, its gonna hit hard as hell anyways, since camaros have those big ass hatchbacks.

they also said that it wouldnt rattle at all since the whole back comes up when i pop the trunk (not just the glass, but the spoiler n everything).

im looking at a kenwood 1000w amp right now.

could someone direct me to a (low priced) alpine type R 12" plz....i dnt know of many sites that sell subs for cheap prices.

again guys, im rly sry im a newb at all this...and thx sooooo much for helping me out with all this stuff. rly 'preciate it!!!

HEY woah woah woah..

Don't b to quick on getting two 12"s!!!..

A lot of people, buy two 12's but don;t have enough room! You will want a minimum of 2 cubic feet each, and you want it ported..

So you need quite a bit of space.. And you're saying a 15" would be a ***** to fit.. 2 12"s will be impossible.. One 12" in a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 32hz will be better than two in a 3 cubic foot box.

Also.. 2000w is a lot of power..

okay. well, at the moment im thinking about what Deja wiz recommended. one-12" sub n that amp. only thing is, is mach5 audio (particularly the maw-12) worth a sh*t? is the profile amp worth a crap either???

Id sit down and figure out exactly what all you will be installing for amperage consumption and add another 10-15% amperage useage on top of that...
