my first motorcycle

Because its true lol. I've only been 80 on my dad's Suzuki GS1100 but I've had only about 20 hours of seat time since getting my motorcycle license three years ago. Then again, I haven't been on a road faster than 45mph speed limit.

Just bought my jacket and gloves today, now I'm ready to hit the curvies next week...can't wait

id start out with an old beater because you WILL lay down your first bike...
Not a guarantee, but highly likely. I've never laid down a street bike but I've laid down my dirtbikes plenty of times...but that is completely different

friend of mine hasnt either, but im trying to make a point here lol

if youre scared to ride, then youre ready...if not, then dont even attempt it cuz you'll end up in the hospital

Joe Rocket perforated leather/ mesh gloves with a Nitro mesh jacket...The padding is better than my dad's Joe Rocket and it was only $100 bucks. I have a HJC CL-14 and just walmart boots for now...

Do you notice much wind noise with that helmet at higher speeds? I just bought a shoei x eleven and am wandering if its really worth the money i paid for it. its supposed to be pretty quiet, but i dont really have anything to compare it to so i dunno.

I was with you before, but now you've lost me lol. With 8 years of dirt riding and an overly efficient motorcycle school I was completely confident in my ability and not scared to ride at all. The only scary thing really is traffic; there are so many dumbass drivers you have to watch out for

you also had experience riding a motorcycle...im talking about starting out with no experience at all...you have to be aware of the fact that you COULD kill yourself in a split second if you're not careful

Not at all...completely quiet cruising at 60mph. My dad has a nice Shoei but after reading all the stories about cheaper helmets being as safe, or safer, I think he'll go with a cheaper helmet next time.

That reminds me of my sister's bf. He thought he could just go for it when he first started...ended up tearing the shit out of our 80cc mini bike and hitting my dad's jeep and flipping it backwards up a gravel hill. And after that he crashed a friend's 125cc motocross bike riding on the street, as well as a friend's R6...and he is saving up to buy his own bike //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
