Well, firstly, those little braces really aren't going to help anything and they only add turbulence. If you're bracing the box, the port is the last place you want to do it in. You're damping a part of the box only inches away from other bracing (the panels themselves), so it would be more beneficial to put it in the chamber itself. Unless you round the edges over in the end, then you're going to meet some turbulence.
