Here is my current build.

I just got my amps and subs Jacked so it’s time for a complete build (Thanks to insured equipment). The box is the start then there will be a hidden amp rack and a couple of spot welds and medal beams in-between the bottom brace of this box and the frame. (This time if someone wants the system they will have steal the truck)

The box is for 2 12" Fi Q 5cu/ft @ 33Hz

Here is the 3d design

I'll add more when I get further along.

looking good. i wish i could find some time to build my enclosure lol. i have a sub thats been sitting for an enclosure for over a month now. i build enclosures just not for me. lol. let me know how you found time to build your personal enclosure. lol

keep the pics coming. looks really good.

So I guess the myth/rule about 8:1 port ratio is just that, myth? Not being a smartass here, actually thought about doing the same thing with mine, but was told it wouldn't be a good idea because of said ratio.

That rule is more applicable when dealing with super narrow ports....

edit: not a very technical explanation, but i have found on big boxes with big ports, ports like that work fine, whereas when building a smaller box/port that's really narrow, you should try to make it 8 or 9:1 or less.

How come you didn't make the port braces go all the way along the port? Are you worried about turbulence caused by the separate pieces of brace?

Not worried about turbulance, as I will smotth everything over at the end.

As far as the port ratio, I have alwas done well with uisng around 13 x the gross volume for for sq/in of port volume. If I stck close to that I hae never had any negitive responce, but I have only tested this in vechiles with large volume to work with lke my Jeep in this case..

i wouldnt of made the port like that. but...it looks good.
Ok, how would you have done it?

I have built several similar designs with positive results... critisim is always welcome;)
