My dad just informed me of some bad news.. help me out..

I went from the 97 explorer on 20's that got about 14mpg on average and NO get up and go.. now I have the 03 Monte SS. I get 26.4 mpg and have some nice power.. It was 03 and got it locally for 10.5K I had to get it.. Its about 80mile round trip from school to home to work daily

Grand Prix GT, GTP, GTX, or Comp G are a few choices.

The TL and CL are very very nice. Also I know you said 6cyl but the TSX is very very nice and very peppy.

You could always get a 4.3 Vortec 2WD blazer. Probably get 20 on the highway(maybe with a tailwind), and probably 12-17 in the city.

I saw a couple people suggest Grand Ams in here. TERRIBLE IDEA. They are cheap, crappy, mass-produced fleet cars. Friend of mine spun one of the front bearings in under 20,000 miles. One of the few cars I would NEVER consider buying, no matter how good of a deal.

yea Grand Ams or for that fact most of the late 80's to 2005/2006 pontiac products are crap, they make the dying tradition of american motors look even worse, and are a disgrace to GM. GM should be ashamed for letting the majority of those Pontiac products hit the streets...

So you are saying Grand Prix GTPs are crap? You sir are misinformed. The 3100 series motors are imho junk(and most of the pontiac community agress with me). The 3800 series found in the Grand Prix GT, GTP, GXP, and the v6 Camaros are very well produced motors capable of making plenty of power.

Fastest 3800 that comes to mind is the ZZP Grand Prix @ running a 9.XX@1XX.XX in the 1/4 mile. All on a stock block.

i am thinking of doing the same thing. i want to get a 4 cylinder s10 xtreme, they look badass and are good for SPL and good on gas. You could get the 4.3 liter 6 cylinder. i am sure it would get 20+ on highway.

im misinformed about nothing, your talking motors, im talking vehicle...im in the business my friend, i've seen 1000's of pointiacs in my time, owned a mess of them, my family has had 1000's of them in the shop, i have rebuilt many from the ground up, so i've been *** deep in the guts of their products, apparently many GM employees feel the same way about the vehicle as i do, i have an entire group of family that work for GM out of St. Louis and they spit on them. the majority of them have HORRIBLE resale values and they total out almost as quick as a neon...

im highly informed about these vehicles as i deal with them on some level everyday....

How many miles would you guys say is TOO much to buy..

I found a 2000 maxima with 119k miles on it for 6900 obo.. let me know if this is too many miles..

mercedes benz diesels.... those things will outrun the odometer at 28 freeway although its not that powerful.,,,even with a turbo **pssssssssssssss*
