My complete box log. Ported=TIME CONSUMING!!

ooh, this looks like fun...anyone have box plans for 2 12" kicker CVR's(i just freakin bought a box, but now i want to make my own--
...is it bad to have subs at an angle in a trunk?
PM IonSQL, he will do a box design for you, for a small fee.

ah...looks a lil easy to pay for a plan, might be time consuming, but not too difficult as long as you have the tools, and know how to use em!

i'd be interested in knowing whether they were really meant to be ported or sealed--imo they sound better sealed, but i have no clue what the RF box i was using was tuned too...all i know was that really fast double base blended together ported, and has come alive sealed...

and still--is it bad to set the subs at an angle in the trunk?

If I may suggest use a jigsaw on the hole next time also drill your hole close to the edge of the hole not in the middle that way you can just saw all the way around at once. They way you did it is madness.

I was originally going to use my Dremel Circle Cutter and bit #655, but that didn't work out so well. With the Circle cutter, you have to drill a hole in the middle to mount it in, and then let the guide do the work. Well, that was easier said than done. That is why you see the holes in the middle. If you notice, I did actually cut a hole in the upper part of the sub cutout, and go around as needed.

It's possible to cut a very nice hole with a cheap jigsaw and a cheap blade. It really just takes patience and going very slow. It also helps to have somebody there with a leaf blower removing the dust as you create it.

I suggest just using clamps and glue, since you have them available, and quit using the screws. It makes the enclosure stronger and it looks much better that way.

I had my Shop Vac tucked in between my legs as I was using the recipricating saw. Once that sawdust builds up, it hard to see what you are doing.

I am debating on putting the FI logo in the front or the JL audio logo. I cut out the FI logo from a picture that they had posted on their site. I used an exacto blade to get it to look nice. I then sprayed it on a practice board just to see how it would look:

I will do the JL logo tomorrow, and see how it looks.
