My car and setup *PICS*

well my friend he chrges 275 for a ported box but it also comes with a lifetime warrantee

so if water get ont the wood causing it to weaken or if the customer drops the box causing it to break or if they even sell the box 2 someone else..my friend will build them another box free of charge

80

NO.. NO it wont be sweet with a new paint job and rims... the car is what it is... there is nothing wrong with it, if he gave a $600 car a new paint job and rims, their would be 2 things wrong with it.
ok them putting about $1000 or so into audio in a $600 car is wrong then...

Its only about 400$ worth of stuff nothing special just because im not rich and have to work for my stuff dont mean you can diss my shit..........

my first car was $200, 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood..with 110,000 miles on it...
God it was a beast, right now i have a 1987 Buick Regal...with 43,000 miles on it...gotta love it!

Back onto the topic, why a single sub? with a trunk that big, you should have a few more, and get to cleanin the **** thing will yah!!
Why shove a bunch of woofers in the trunk in a less than optimum enclosure? You just spent more to get less...

For Diamond audio guy or whatever. If you are paying anyone over 230 bucks for a custom ported box at your local shop or off the internet then you my friend have been had. My local shop here runs as high as 150 for a custom ported box 3/4 mdf carpeted. Hell I only paid 50 bucks for my sealed box that is 1.75c^ft. Where do you live?
Does that mean your local shop makes as good of a box? Does it come with a 5 year warranty?

Hear a TCAB box and you'll see the difference... there is a vid on the site that details the BIG difference it makes going from one of the boxes designed on here to a TCAB box, and changing nothing else.

Your shop builds for 150, but I'm willing to bet the box won't be as good, or last as long.

I never got that, and i dont even think that he uses particle board...looks like OSB (oriented strand board) The cheapest stuff the home depot/lowes sells
I use quality particle board. I've done the testing, its lighter and stiffer than MDF. Its more porous, yes, but its also treated to prevent water damage. Remember, 5 year warranty here...

Seems like a fair price for a box covered that performs as advertised (apparently some of the best type r boxes there are). Try having a custom box built at a shop.. most charge around that price or more.
The shops in the area will laugh at you if you want a custom carpeted box built for $230... lets not even consider $230 SHIPPED. Lets also remember most shops don't have a grasp on proper ported box design, and will just tell you to buy the biggest and most expensive thing. You get a TCAB box, you also buy the reccomendation of PROPER products, and you know your getting the BEST box for your application.

This guy buys a corvette and your telling him he could have gotten a kia for half the price...

Most importantly - satisfied customer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Tell me what you think....
its loud, that box sounds great in that style car... I had just recently made one for a similar vehicle not a week before your order. Amazing sound quality, while still getting dam loud.

The car looks fine... dirty engine bay, but thats about all. Great cars to drive... one of the best highway cars period.

lol, youre so full of shit...$200+ for a single 12" box is ridiculous[/story]
I'd love to know why you feel that way?

Maybe I shouldn't figure labor into my costs... I'll just tack on 20 bux to materials and shipping, definitely worth a couple days worth of work, not considering the time spent coming up with the design, the research done to find out what works best and where.... just give me my 20 bux for my expertise and I'll be on my way.

Customer service, warranty, the assurance you are getting one hell of a box - one that will otherwise require much more cone or power (if you can even fit it) to mimic the performance otherwise... thats whats built into the price of the box. The truth is that the boxes are barely any more than a comparable box from some random guy, and a shop will almost always charge more, and a majority of the time all you get is a manufacturer recommended cookie cutter box.

Most of the "premium" prefabs from a retail location will cost a heck of alot more than a TCAB box... and they just flat out aren't as good.

didnt read any of that^^i feel what i said is pretty accurate..dont have anything else to say other than I think its wrong to charge those prices...but hey, its up to the consumer

I dont feel a double cheeseburger should cost $.99 - but there is justification for that price.

Hell... I'll give ya a nickel for the burger, thats about all it costs to make.

We'll clean the thing when we get the time. But it will just get dirty again.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
