Why shove a bunch of woofers in the trunk in a less than optimum enclosure? You just spent more to get less... Does that mean your local shop makes as good of a box? Does it come with a 5 year warranty? Hear a TCAB box and you'll see the difference... there is a vid on the site that details the BIG difference it makes going from one of the boxes designed on here to a TCAB box, and changing nothing else. Your shop builds for 150, but I'm willing to bet the box won't be as good, or last as long. I use quality particle board. I've done the testing, its lighter and stiffer than MDF. Its more porous, yes, but its also treated to prevent water damage. Remember, 5 year warranty here... The shops in the area will laugh at you if you want a custom carpeted box built for $230... lets not even consider $230 SHIPPED. Lets also remember most shops don't have a grasp on proper ported box design, and will just tell you to buy the biggest and most expensive thing. You get a TCAB box, you also buy the reccomendation of PROPER products, and you know your getting the BEST box for your application. This guy buys a corvette and your telling him he could have gotten a kia for half the price... Most importantly - satisfied customer
