My boss is freakin awesome!

Read his previous posts. It's obvious he knows everything and thus is fit to talk shit to every customer who comes in with a differing opinion.
isnt he the MMA fighter also? also, awesome customer service there bud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I'll use the conservative's "George Bush" excuse that has become so popular...

"The President doesn't have nearly the amount of influence that people think he does. He's really just a figure head, and the senate/house are the ones who should be blamed for bad policies being passed."

If that's the case, that the President is just a figure head, then we now have a more highly educated and better speaking person representing the country.

Agree with Squeak and Devil. Should have manned up and sucked it up and just did your job.

What did you think she was going to be happy about how you put your lame line down?

If she was pissed and sounds like she was, I imagine CS will be hearing about this and either you or your manager will be in mucho shit. Laugh now, cry later.............dumbass!

An African American woman comes in with a bag. Note, she is wearing an Obama hat and tshirt.

I take it to the table for packaging and she says to me "Exciting time isn't it?", i look up and reply "About what?" She says "Well our new President of course!" I said "Oh, yea things are gonna get exciting when this bill ruins our country".

He comes from the front and she asks why the price is so high. He replies "because we elected Obama".

I laughed. She grabbed the package and left, while my boss yells out after her "don't worry the packaging is on us, kinkos is about a half mile south!"
good story there... I have many a bunch of co-workers who act the same way. He came to our town last week with his stimulus song & dance trunk show. Promising this and giving that was his administration's bill.

Don't forget about bs like Pelosi's 50 million dollar swamp rat fund:verymad://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

lol, actually i think it was called a 'marsh mouse'.

since you seem to so fully understand this economic plan,, please give us a somewhat academic sounding rundown of key elements that you disagree with and what alternative approach you think would have been more ideal.
lols. I could on parts. There is no "sound" alternative if you want to achieve both the social and economic impacts of the intention of the bill.

yea... really has not worked for every other western country aside from the U.S. very well.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
those that are working class or lower middle class that have to pay family health care premiums of 200-300 dollars a month plus co-pay I think will not have much of a problem with the idea. If someone only makes 30k per year those premiums can be more than 10% of their annual salary.
So. The poorest are also typically the most unhealthiest. Why shouldn't those with the highest risk and highest use of services pay the most. People in the higher income brackets go to the doctor less.

squeak and devil I almost 100% agree with you but i dont see how he was being a smart ***. He was expressing his opinion. Maybe he should have not done it to a customer but if his words are true then how is this different from any other day of him doing his job. I will reread his go post cause im a lil under right now.
When working with the public, the best idea is to go along to get along. If customer a is a jesus freak, I will go along. If customer B is a devil worshipper, I will go along. What I feel or think has nothing to do with the business that's paying me to take money.

You ever heard the saying "The customer is always right" ?
Well, it's not true.

But, in this case is applicable. As Devil said.....is voicing his political view really worth losing of a customer? If someone has an unhappy experience with a business, they don't keep that information to themselves. They will tell other people about that unpleasant experience. The average unhappy customer will tell 9 other people about their experience. So now instead of losing one customer, he's lost 10 potential customers. What happens when those 10 other people tell their acquaintances about the experience? Now how many potential customers has he lost? Over bickering with an old lady about her optimism for the new administration?

And yes, if his post is a direct quote, that's a smartass comment. It could have been worded much more politely. It was worded in a manor that was meant to be mildly offensive to a supporter of the administration (for whatever reason that may be). And the managers comment was just plain idiotic. Obama presently has nothing to do with the price of UPS's shipping. And the comment as she walked out the door was just immature and a horrible example to set for the staff.

It doesn't matter if his viewpoint is valid or not, or whether he agreed with hers. It was a stupid comment and a stupid argument to have with a customer. You don't argue politics or religion with a customer. Period. It is 100% unnecessary and unneeded.

That's false-ish. Every long run report (over 10 to 20 years) says that "friends tell friends" thing typically drops when the business creates a new logo or advertising campaign.

It does matter with small "mom and pop" establishments. But big retail chains...not a chance. Wal-Mart probably has 100k complaints a day, but it isn't shutting it's doors.
