mustang max wattage on stock alt

car:2001 mustang v6 110a stock alt reg cheap starting batt.

system: 600 watts at 2 ohm with pioneer deck on speakers

big 3 done in OFC 4 gauge.

the alt can easily run this system right? what would be the max you could run on that electrical?

whats happening is the car is being erratic. we will go to start it and its dead no light nothing. then go back in 5 min it fires up like normal.

then when driving, because it a manual, the rpms get low, around 500. and the car dies and sputters, electical sounding not a misfire, no fire. and his dad says its the alt, but if the car wont start how is it the alt?

my dad used to race in enduros and said batteries can get interal shorts where a tab breaks causing erratic battery connection. has anyone heard this? cause they are getting really b!tchy about it.

you may have screwed up the Big 3 and not connected everything tight...

Bad big 3 or batts going out imo, however the car dying while driving sounds like alt..

yeah, chunks of lead can break off and create contact between two plates in the batt and will short it internally. If you think thats what it is, borrow a battery and see if it keeps it up.

sometimes it different everytime. and i was thinking its the batt because the rpms get so low the alt puts out to little power for the ignition system and because the batts bad it dies.

nope once it died fired right up then last night it wouldnt had to jump it. then we got back to his house and he fired it up. so i think batt.

im running 2900W with 130amps alternator with big 3 and slight lights dimming

it is probably ur battery as u suspect.

I run a memphis big belle bridged (230x2 plus 1100x1) at full boogie with no issues in my 03 cobra. im sure the alternator is no different in the 2

Your problem is the v6 in your mustang.
