multimeter testing: ohms load

make sure you're not touching the cone at all and put the probes on so they stay by themselves and you're not touching the speaker.

DOn't know what RX10 is. It should just be on the resistance setting on the right range if your DMM isn't auto ranging. Look for the resistance symbol, it looks like a horseshoe.

yeah its on the resistance setting, i dunno wtf

It may be the user , but I just broke out my meter and put it on brand new Kicker subs. The stated ohm is duel4 ohm. but the meter reads 3 ohms each. ???????????

The coil will always read lower than the nominal impedance (what the sub is called; dual 2/4 whatever) on a multimeter because you are reading the Re (which is a speaker parameter). When there is power applied, there is reactance introduced and thus the actual impedance will rise. This will also vary over frequency.

Try searching as there was a thread about just this only a few days ago.
