believe me i wont care about the sound...and where i go to school alot of people are into louder cars and motorcycles etc...im more worried about the performance part cause i love this car for what it is...a fun faster car i just dont wanna ruin that

i have been running my vette with straight pipes since the day i bought it. Get rid of your cats and get rid of your mufflers. If you think its to loud. You shouldnt have a gto is the way i see it....

Straight pipes are the way to go.

And why the hell would "back pressure" make you gain torque?

The more pressure not allowing the air to exhaust properly, the more pressure there is for the air to intake, thus creating a problem.

Or, you can stop being a bitch and take your headers off and just go open headers.

just do a cut out and get rid of the cats.with daily just drive with the cut out plugged should get a little louder then it is and when fell like crusing or the strip take the plug off gets crazt loud and sounds awesome.me and alot of my friends have done this and if you do lose 5 in torque you porbably gain 10 in hp.exhaust is more open = more flow=more power.just suggestion.

It must just be preference, I heard it before on my friends GTO and it was extremely loud, and a little raspy not really anything I'd do for a daily.

it will not be that noticable loss in tq, and if you do not need to get a smog or care about the noise and droning in the car, then do it...
