muffler delete on my GTO

do it tomorrow for $50 or not?

reasons?

its a 2005 which many people have done a delete with much success and they like the sound

others have said its entirely too loud and you lose some torque...fact or fiction?

leave muffler take out cats

edit: im assuming you have the stock muffler? get a new muffler and take out the cats

it will be louder but the lack of backpressure may cause a small decrease in performance.

i always thought the GTO sounded bad *** as it was. loss of torque would **** if it was noticeable, but i cant help on if its true or not. i could see a loss in back pressure hurting you though.

member on ls1gto forum and have read every topic on it...just wanted to see what you guys thought...my buddy whose really into cars said that the loss of low end is just a myth due to an increase in a little power up top due to better flow...

When you lose back pressure you do lose bottom end but it shouldnt be too noticable - i say do it.

yeah my friend said it would be a loss of maybe 5 tq...which to someone such as myself, or maybe to most people, would not be noticeable in a daily driver
