mtx thunder or Type-r

i was looking at buying 2 new 12"s and future shop here is having a sale on there 12" mtx thunders 500 series, but i dont realy care about the price is a 12" type-R way better?

my R's smoked today:crap: . they getting no more than 1600 watts to. so i'd say get a R only if your working with no power.
