MTX 2300X Questions/Problems

Okay, so I have a Jeep Wrangler, year 2000. I have a Jensen CD4610 head unit. I have a 10" Polk Momo (MM2104) wich I had hook up to a Lightning Bolt 1 channel amp (it sucked). A friend of mine upgraded her car audio system a while back and recently gave me one of her old amps. Its a MTX 2300X. I was playing around with differnt ways of hooking it up. I was going to hook it up in bridge. When I hooked it up in bridge, without the rca from the head unit or the speaker wires to the amp hooked up it would power up fine. When I attached the RCA, the power light starts to blink. I had to upgrade from a 30amp fuse to a 40amp at the battery because it blew through them. Am I able to run this amp in bridge mode with my setup? I want to get the most out of my 10" momo, I know its capable of hitting harder then it currently is.

Thank You and any help is greatly appreciated.

Got to get yourself a 80, 100, or 150 amp ANL fuse (depending on what you got going on) and fuse holder. Mtx are best and that thunder series was incredible. You probably need to go to a local shop to pick these fue and holder up. Any shop big or small should have them.

okay, my friends are telling me that they don't see my setup needing a 100 amp fuse... one of them said he is pushing out 3k watts and only has a 30 amp fuse. Another has a 80amp fuse and a really nice system... what would make this amp, with one sub pull more than their setups that are better imho? Is it the bridged setup?

I am pretty sure you would probably want to get some knowledgeable advise from the guys on here. I do not think your friend is running 3000 watts on a 30 amp inline fuse @ the battery with nothing else involved in his electrical system

if that Polk is a dual 4 it may cause problems for that amp, since its only 4 ohm stable.

Other than that, yes the 2300x is a tank, I had one back in the day and it blew through a pr of Solo Baric 12's and JL 12W4's.

You need to upgrade to at least an 80a fuse up front. Good luck, you have a very nice amp in your possession.
