yamaha yzf 600r? its a sport touring bike, but looks like a rocket, and is really comfortable and easy to handle.

if you wanted to step up I would get nothing less than a gsxr 750. the gsxr's are by far the best sport bikes ive been on. great throttle control, handling, and overall power. very smooth bike imo

i was feinin so bad the other day i went ridin in 38 degree weather. fuggin cold!
but well worth it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

We've had snow/ice covered streets here for weeks, but we have a streak of 40+ degree days comin. Can't wait to get some riding time in.

I dont know if I would call a r6 a touring bike.

All i can really say is GIXXERR PWRRRRRRRR!!!!

Just got a K7 gsx-r600 and its more power than a begginer really needs, and so is the R6. Look into the new 08 Ninja 250's much less forgiving WHEN you fall.

ya as of now im planning on buying an 08 ninja 250...

I didn't read this whole thread, but all i can say is start small. get a Suzuki SV 600, Yammi FZR 600, or Kawi ZZR 600. if you're dying to have the supersport look, go with a R6s. you seem to have the right idea, but if you have to have a big boy.... get a gixxer 1000 and sell me the good parts when you crash //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

also, anyone who says a modern 600cc sportbike is slow doesn't know how to ride it.

do yourself a favor and start with a 600, just take it easy at first, trust me you'll get tired of the 600 quick, its like an addiction. i had my zx6r for less than a yr and bought a gsxr750. if ur gonna spend the money on something new, get a 600

i dont know if im gonna buy new or not now..i dont wanna buy some used bike that looks like crap even if it is to practice on...which is why im leaning to the ninja, its only 3500 bux, and id think id be able to get enough back out of it for a down payment on a better bike once i get the hang of things...

i dunno what to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
