scoop a couple yr old gsxr 600 or a zx6r, the styling asnt changed too much and you can make them alot faster as u get more experienced. im sure all the guys in here will agree for the most part, dont start that small, you can find a good used 600 on your price range

Might not hurt to start putting some money away now and make a list of cheap learner bikes you will accept. Keep an eye out for a super deal on a used one and grab it up. If you find a bargain you can learn on it and when your ready you can sell it for close to the same as you paid for it...and bam you have a down payment for a real bike when your ready.

There is no shame in riding a $1000 bike until you get some miles under your belt. Also not bad to go cheap on a first bike to see if its something you really want to get into for the long term. Otherwise you have to accept that you might cause some damage to a couple thousand dollar ride or instantly lose value in it.

ya ill start doing that...the saving part isnt hard for me...once i get my stereo stuff sold ill have about 1000 in the bank...i should have enough money before my birthday for a bike...

I used to ride with em, on a chopper. I laughed when they stood up to stretch and all that. They were always cramping up, and complaining their balls were hot.

And it was AWESOME at redlights when we'd launch.....redline, and dump it......LMAO....I pulled a 3ft tops, and launched like an AWD 1200 hp porsche.....they 12 0'clocked and lost speed. Until about 65-75, I was up front, on a TWICE as heavy bike. And I'm 350 to begin with.

And you have NO IDEA how much more attention you get on a nice cruiser than a rocket. I know. I had both, regret the rocket, loved the chopper.

And yes, luanching a cruiser hard, smoldering the rear tire, and hole shotting like a bat out of hell is a million times more fun than trying to launch a crotch rocket.

First off... wow... Alot guys on the forum here have not the slightest idea about bikes obviously. A CBR-XX blackbird and busa are NOT the 2 fastest bikes made. Fastest production bikes are the Busa and the ZX-14. "i.e= if you mis-time a shift the bike wont accelerate out of no where and pickup and possibly make you crash." What the hell are you smoking and who taught you about bikes? You actually impress me with your lack of knowledge. You sound like a guy that wants a bike but has never ridden one. If you shift up at ANY time there is only a LOSS of acceleration. The only thing that can get you in trouble is you right hand. not you left foot dumb ***... You have to lean more and their harder to control?! Wow... must I even comment on that... "but iif youre just starting wouldn’t change anything performance wise like brakes." Again wow... Yes your brakes affect performance... Yeah on SLOWING DOWN, which generally isnt the problem. And saying that and R6 is a good beginner bike is def not the case. Yeah for those that don’t know how to use clutch control. And so you know... A fast launch is when you DONT have rear wheel spin. Not smoldering it. Just bc you never learned how to PROPERLY launch your sport bike and went to the, anyone can do it red line and drop the clutch. Thats not the faster method... If that were the case why are the drag guys on sport bikes and not on your slower more retard proof choppers? They look good most times yes. But trying to say that it’ll out run a R6 off the line... true story, if anybody in jersey wants to run their cruiser against my 750, i guaruntee i will pull harder off the line, seems like alot of ppl dont know how to ride their bikes here. and i guaruntee ill pull more girls on the gixxer than a "cruiser', girls my age love street bikes.
