Hey man, i would be mad as hell, but the most reasonable thing to do is the BBB and some reviews in the local newspaper and other local and national means of advertising about "thier excellent and timely service, trained employees, attention to detail, so on and so forth" (im speaking sarcasiticly by the way)

Good luck

Did you try to even talk to the shop owner? If that doesn't work, take them to small claims court. This is the kind of stuff you deal with in small claims if you can't get satisfaction outside of court.

They gave me two pairs of Pioneers, and installed them;

I lifted my deck lid last week to do some deadening, and guess what.

They're screwed in there all effed up; I'm afraid to disassemble my doors. I took a look at the factory doorspeakers, and the mounting tabs (plastic) are all askew and face strange directions; So surely they just screwed the Pioneers in as best they could - that's what they did with the rears. There are probably giant gaps.

When it gets warm, I'm going to blow them up, and have a little discussion with them.

Seems to me like maybe they aren't even aware of how speakers work;

For the record, speakers don't work very well at all if the area in front of the cone isn't seperated from the area behind the cone.

So my rear deck, and probably my doors, are pretty much free-airing.

ok do this......why dont u drive by the shop a few times...and late at night go in the back of the shop drill a hole..make sure u can get a tube inside the hole and pour some kind of fluid in the holes so that it will leak inside the shop and set it on fire....of put freon on the locks and break them with a hammer ..then break the window and steal some equipment

if someone messed up my ride i would go drastic on them

cough* felony *cough

dead fish are a nasty revenge.

It's installed BEHIND the mounting kit.
On an Audi, that is the way the radio is installed. It goes behind the "kit." Its not actually a kit, rather an ISO trim ring that covers the gap that would be around the radio. The radio doesn't mount to the front of the trim ring.

That really sucks about the broken trim. It really does look like they just pulled on it. That is something that should be fixed by the shop. At my shop if anything is broke during the install, whether the car was old and dry rotted or not, the shop pays for the replacement/repair no questions asked. Thats part of a big store though.

same thing here...we've got a circuitcity up here and they do the shittiest installs ever...but that was back when i didnt know how to install CA equipment...

i would go ripshit on them...if i were you

Arson and theivery are a bit beyond me, I'm not one for jail;

But I'm so disappointed w/ my install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Actually, I'm disappointed with each and every facet of it;

They installed the amp and broke trim,

They installed the deck - crooked and ugly

They installed the rear speakers like you might install a paperplate into a trashcan

And likely, my doors are effed up, too.

I'll stop in there whenever I'm having a bad day. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dude, tell me if this is the store that I went to. I don't remember where it was.

They put down all Alpine head units because they "look fancy" and "have motorized faceplates" and don't sell them

Over half of their head units are Clarion

The store is small, in a bad part of Columbus, has the selling desk on the left with the head unit / speaker room on the right side, if i remember correctly, the entire speaker/headunit room is blue

The people working there don't know anything about their products, and are either old, or really scraggly-looking

The install garage is around the right side of the building, is in the very back of the store, and their store is in a small strip-mall setting

those guys are dimwits. i took a 45minute drive from Grove City to listen to some 40something year old guy tell me how much Alpine sucks, Clarion is God, and has a sidekick that can't make the head units play sound.

I'm not a lawyer, but; I never signed anything saying the install was satisfactory, or for that matter, anything except my visa receipt. Any insight? There *is* a sign there, that disclaims responsability for broken parts; but don't they have to confirm that with me? I mean, just because they have a document on the wall / under the desk / in a drawer / wherever, does that obligate me to agree to those terms?
In short, yes. I think a small claims court would let you off the hook otherwise, but yes, you ARE obligated.

And for the person who said you can't enforce somethign you don't understand, thats BS. you can.

You may be able to sue for lost wages.
he'll never get them IMHO.

dude we have a Mobile Electronics here in Tuscaloosa and they also do shitty jobs installing systems AND engine swaps, now i dont know who would have a new engine put in at a place called "Mobile Electronics" but whatever. Sorry about your experience
