Well take the duct tape that was around your speakers and wrap it around there mouth then tie them up and beat there *** es with a louisville slugger! Sorry about your luck man. I know how you feel as I have had my fair share of so called professional car audio installers. Hope all is well now, Peace!

What is your choice of local shops then?
Honestly, I have seen Mobile Electronics put out the best work of all of the stores locally. Unlimited Audio may be better, but I have yet to see many finished products.
Unfortunately, Unlimited Audio is closed, and so is Stereo Limited. Which leaves Columbus Car Audio.

I've had good conversation with Stereo Limited; That guy was knowledgable.

Columbus Car Audio (Dublin location and Morse Rd location) were just cash-register operators as far as I could tell.

Mobile Electronics was like talking to a noob. The manager even offered up that I had a better understanding of the 'scientific' side of things than his salespeople. All I wanted to do was chat about enclosure tuning and impedances.

(they also don't posess a voltmeter, apparently; they "set gains by ear.")

And I'm still a rookie.

And ya know, to further the point; They were completely unprofessional in the way they conducted themselves each and every time I went there. The manager, Dave seems genuine enough; But still never accomplished anything for me. Says he's gonna ream the installer for doing a bad job; But then denies me compensation?!

And all the usual audio-shop hangups; No attentive employees, you've gotta stand there with your thumb in your *** for 20 minutes to purchase 10 feet of cable.

I'm not sure what work you've seen, but I haven't seen anything good. I wish those pictures were still up; I'll repost them when I get to my camera. It's a total hackjob, man.

Well now that I'm in Columbus... Are there ANY car audio shops here worthy of me stopping by and showing them that it is a good idea to carry my products? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif -- some sort of place that is capable of a good custom install -- fiberglassing? -- knows what the hell they are doing and don't seem like a bunch of bumbling idiots?

It pains me to say no. Columbus Car Audio is the best bet - the Dublin location.

Hey, I live in Dublin.

What are you bringing?
I live in Dublin and my friend worked at CCA Dublin for over a year. They do no custom work there at all. I saw them use fiberglass maybe on two cars. The most custom work they do at that store is build boxes, and that was once a week or something.
Unlimited Audio was the place in Worthington with the Zapco, right? Or do I have it confused with another place. They seemed pretty busy when I was in there, surprised it closed. Their showroom was really nice.

Stereo Limited was absolute junk.

That car was just plain loud and nasty. It is tuned really low, but when I heard it, they hadn't upgraded it to having 3 alts. How many shops in Columbus do you know of that would do 3 alts??

I cant see the pics??? dont know why?? I own my own shop called Mobile Wiring. If we broke any plastic we would replace it b4 you knew it but, We would also tell you that.

We deal with alot of other poor installs done by others. I dont understand why they have no PRIDE in the work they do. Our suff has got to look good b4 it gos out. Plain and simple!

Like we always say...... " It's All About The Install "

Sure, maybe if you pay 'em a few thousand bucks for an install.

I'll bet if you disassemble that thing it's junk; Like the guy with the w7 box somewhere around this forum; Took it apart and found all the screwups.

---

I'm talking about the every day install; For every one install like the Pioneer wall above, there are hundreds of "just installs."

Just installing an amp, or headunit, or speakers, or alarm, or remote start.

That's what I'm referring to. Those items that should be elementary in comparison to that custom install.

And maybe that's even more to my point. If they're capable of doing a nice job, then it goes to show that the job wasn't shitty because they're incapable, but because they don't care.

I didn't spend thousands of dollars, and I didn't purchase 12 woofers at retail price;

But I did pay their labor rate; $50/hour.

For an amp install, headunit install, front speaker install, and rear speaker install.

I bought the speakers there, I bought a few enclosures, I bought some cable, distroblocks in the past, etc.

Doesn't that entitle me to decent labor when I pay for it?

No. They damaged the car, damaged the faceplate, damaged the speakers, damaged everything they touched.

Well with no pics, I didn't read the whole thread. I had no idea what you were talking about.

When I have gone there, they are pretty open about people taking a look in their garage. I have seen some pretty nice looking installs while I was there. I saw a green deville they did a slick install with some mirrored plexi in the back, and they even did tv's int he sideview.

They have used a lot of mirrors/plexi and it looks really sharp. If I was having work done, I know I would go there.

I cant belive all the bad post on this shop .Im new here and have read about this place alot WTF? is wrong with them?????? Mobile Electronics you guys give yourselves and all you products a bad name

Some installers are hacks, they just don't care about anyones cars. That sucks.

Me, i am the most anal freaking installer you will ever see. It makes me cringe when I see a hackjob install, even more so when a so called shop does it.
