Dropped my car off at 10am, with a Brutus in the trunk and a Sony on the seat.
Car was supposed to be done at 2:30.
Here's the timeline, from when I showed up.
3:30 - My faceplate is missing.
3:45 - "You guys do custom glassing?" 'Yeah, our best installer - the guy who did your car, actually - is the one who does it.' "Cool."
4:00 - Random installer shows up with it, took it by mistake
4:10 - I get in my car. The deck isn't installed. "wtf."
4:30 - Deck installed. I snap in the faceplate;
5:00 - I bring the manager to my car. "Put this CD in," I say. He presses open. The face doesn't flip down. Because the mounting bracket is in the way.
5:30 - They bring me my keys, again. I was supposed to be at work at 4. I hop in the car. It's in the same place, with the same problem.
5:35 - I inspect the rest of the careless install, and find:
That's broken trim. In my Audi. See those wires? That's a 4ga amp lead AND my RCAs.
5:40 - "Wtf. Fix this. This install was supposed to be done three hours ago."
6:00 - "This mounting kit isn't right - we'll have to trim it. We'll do that for free, since you've waited so long."
They'll dremel my mounting kit. For free. As some sort of bonus. Yippie.
I blink, twice. And then I walk out. I'm two and a half hours late for work when I get there.
In the parkinglot, I take a look at the deck;
It's installed BEHIND the mounting kit.
$149 dollars and seven hours later, this is what I end up with.
Mobile Electronics on Morse Rd. in Columbus, Ohio is a miserable establishment that FAILED.
Failed.
They failed to install a headunit.
Failed.
I just can't make any sense out of it. How does a professional audio shop fail to install a headunit in 7 hours, AND break my trim.
