Of course! Many folks have used them this way. Build big, tune low. 10 cubes tuned to 18-19Hz. This is the recommended size for the MJ-18M.

When I build the box I just gotta make sure it will fit through the door lol!

If the box is 10 cubes it is more efficient thus I could get away with like a 400-500 watt plate amp???

normally yes in a box that big. I have 2 15" RL-P's each in 10 cubes/19Hz and they get stupid low/loud off 400watts each.

Mach5 forum on SSA should have plenty of builds with the MJ18.

In a HT environment are you supposed to go IB with the MJ 18? And why tune it so low... isn't that for HT subs that are meant for movies and not music? Been thinking about getting one and the 500 watt dayton plate amp off of partsexpress, or is the bash one worth it?

you dont HAVE to. Not everyone can cut a hole in the wall. If you can I would. Drawback of the IB is you need lots of cone area and power. Depends on your room size too. 2 at least in a small/med room. Mor if you can afford it. Build a manifold for 8 if you can. Check out the cult at http://ibsubwoofers.proboards51.com/

another option is a sonotube in the corner, use heigth to get your volume

sure, tune real low. The whole point of HT is to feel vibrations not to be 'loud'. If you dont want a big square in your room then do a sonotube

ask mrogowski, he knows alot about mach5, but honestly a low tune wont mean it will sound like crap, just mean you wont have that bump in the low 30 range that people like for rap

You can get fairly loud but given the low frequencies you are attempting to produce don't expect concert levels.
