Mixing sub sizes?

I'm wondering if it is okay to mix sub sizes, I have a dd9512 d4, and someone offered me a 9518 d4, it will be the same specs as far as power, could I put them in the same box or would that be a bad idea? And would it sound good or would one over power the other?

How would you put them in the same box: the 12 needs around 2.5cubes and the 18 needs around 6cubes.

General consensus is that it's NOT a good idea to mix sub sizes, but it has been done successfully.

Assuming you have the room, recone the 12 to an 18 and run 2 18's...

Well I wasn't sure if there was a way to put them in the box. I was just wondering though. Never had a 18 and not sure if I would like it or not lol
