Mix shallow mount subs with normal?

I have two Rockford Fosgate P3's and found a deal where I could buy two shallow mount P3's cheap. Would that work? The ones I have are 12 inch d4 ohm with 500wrms, and the shallow mounts are 12 inch d4 ohm with 400wrms. Can this be done?

Will you be running a separate amplifier to them?

If so, then it should work just fine.

I wouldn't see any problems arising. The only possible problem that might arise is one of sound quality - if the shallow don't sound great turned up, then the whole bass setup won't sound great.

That would be the only possible complication I could see. Might wait for a second opinion though.

I'm at a loss to think of any right now. I wouldn't think it would be different than having a different set of components in the front or rear - the only possible effect would be on sound quality.

i wouldnt suggest it, maybe buy them cheap and re-sell for 2 more of the regular ones?

This setup will only work in Florida, and only if you run bullet tweeters

in addition to your normal mids and highs.
