Maybe I should have searched, but it is VERY late, and I am tired!

I was originally looking into an alpine type-r, but I have stumbled upon this in my search for (and decision to use) elemental designs amplifiers. Think I should go with this instead of the R?

Elemental Designs 13Kv.2

I hope this doesn't earn me a bad rep around here, but I had to ask the question, since everyone on here is a lot more experienced with this stuff than I am. Thanks for any replies !!

NOTE: I am going to be going with two drivers either way I go, and I will be powering it with a eD ninE.1 @ 1200w RMS.

where'd that extra hour go anyways?

I thought i had an extra hour to sleep, and then i realized my computer already adjusted itself..... ohhhh man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Id go with the R's..........

1200 should be enough to get them moving nice. They can take more, but that IS enough power.

Havent heard of any problems with the 9.1, either.......seems to be the ed subs that are crap.

Yea just because some dumbasses like to throw 1500 watts to one type R doesnt mean you have to to get them wanging. Looks down at Sig.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

U can get a 5,000 watt amp if u want, as long as u set ur gains right the subs can handle it. I'd go with the Bxi2000D, good power for the money, and if u ever decide u want to do some burps than u can send around 1900 watts to the pair. Cuse I know the bxi are still a little overrated, not as much as the original BX's were but still.

ok. i am going to go with the hifonics bxi 2006. after some research, i believe that the r's can handle the power no problem. and, i dont plan on running that amp at full power all the time anyway. for burps and such, it'll be nice, but i would rather have the extra power there for either future upgrades, or just for those mentioned burps.

Good choice with the Hifonics BXi2006...want one myself just to have one but im happy with my BX1000D for now. Anyway I believe that like said above, be smart with the gains and volume and you should be bumpin happy.

Okay im confused. I thought that the rated RMS output in watts would be delivered by the amp at any gain setting, just less volume. Doesn't that run the risk of damaging the voice coils? Or do i have it all wrong. Ive been buying amps to match rms to rms.
