Matching an amp for a beginner?

Hi, I'm trying to find an amp for these subs that I've gotten and I've tried researching as much as I can but I can't seem to understand what would be a good amp. The subs are:

Dual BP1204 12-Inch 1100-Watt subwoofers

I can't include a link so I guess google can suffice

Technical specs are:

Watts RMS: 600 watts

Watts Peak: 1,100 watts

Sensitivity: 89 dB

Frequency Response: 25 to 200 Hz

Impedance: 4 ohms

Height: 14.2 inches

Width: 29.5 inches

Depth: 14.2 inches

The part that confuses me is that it's dual subs, so there are 2 subwoofers so would I still want 4 ohms, and what wattage should the amp be, and any other things. If anyone could recommend an amp that would work well with these subwoofers that would be great, preferably $60 or under but hey, whatever works. Thanks!

You would need an amplifier that does 1,200w rms @ 4ohms. But chances are you will not find one in the $60 range that is decent.

I would say he needs 1200wrms at 2 ohms, wired in parallel those 4 ohm subs would be 2 ohms.

Noobs ITT. You need 600 @ 4 ohm for one of those LED bandpass box things correct? Try an AP 1500. It'll give you 500 @ 4 ohm (which is close enough), and it'll do 1500 @ 1 ohm so it'll give you some wiggle room when you upgrade. It's also cheap. Can't really beat em' for 120 bucks. You'll need to double your budget. You're not going to find an amp for 60 bucks with the kind of power you're looking for unless you get lucky on Craigslist. total input power is 600W RMS (sub magnets are only 45oz each, each sub is 300W RMS rated). Subs are 8 ohm SVC for a 4 ohm mono load.

You want up to 600W RMS at 4 ohms.

$60 is not a realistic budget unless you find a deal used. look around on the classifieds. even a decent 2 channel amp can be bridged. i bet a solid 400W would be enough to destroy those subs.

your only chance for anywhere near the pricing you're looking for is going on ebay and finding an auction amp and getting lucky... i doubt it will happen though... save up $20 a month until you can afford about $200. you're better off spending a little extra on a good amp than buying a cheap crappy one that will blow in 6-8 months and have to buy another
