need help

whatever setting you personally prefer. once you set your gain, if you add EQ boost or level boost, you risk clipping at your set volume. note that what you are doing with a DMM is measuring voltage. EQ's and level boosts increase voltage.

typically, sub level is set around 50% so you have some flexibility. i adjust sub level with each album since each recording engineer mixes differently and the difference between older music and newer music is drastic.

It's recommended that you set sub amp gain with the same EQ settings that you will use for normal listening.

but i will probley use the sub volume on the eq to turn the sub down if needed, so should i just put it like 3/4 of the way up and once i set the gain dont turn it up past that just down?

Ya that's probably OK. Sometimes it's nice to have a bit more sub volume available when the recording seems "lacking". Just gotta be careful not to leave it there..

a quick fix for that is if you have a remote knob port on your amp, installing one of those gives you full control of your amp whenever you want it without having to change your base eq settings or climbing in your trunk every day
