I am purchasing a used Fi Q from a fellow Caraudio forum member. I wanna make sure i am making a good choice.

I am running a Hifonics BXI 2006D (2000 watts overated)

I am purchasing one FI Q 15 dual 2 BP OPTION

I drive a 1997 Honda Civic.

Question #1

Obviously i have limited trunk space but i am guessing i can at least fit a single 15 in it, right?

Question #2

Since i have limited trunk space and am only running one sub i would want the dual 2 to be able to wire down to 1ohm right?

1 sub (dual 2) + 1 amp = 1ohm final load capability?

Question #3

My overrated 2000 watt budget amplifier wont be too much for the low-rated rms, fi Q right? It DOES have the BP OPTION (In other words will my Hifonics BXI 2006D wont be too much for a fully loaded Fi Q BP)

Question #4

Anyone ever deal with hurricanes0688? I have no worries as to ive read his profile, seen the pics, and talked with him but i just thought i'd ask. (please dont be affended if you read this hurricane. I have no worries i am just being thorough

)

Question # 5

I know nothing about building enlcosures. I can not afford $250 for a custom built box. (What makes a custom box cost 200 + dollars when it cost near pennies to build yourself.) If i decide i wont fork up the cash for a professionally built box what are my other choices? My friend says he could help me build one but i dont know if i trust him...(hes one of those newbs who thinks his type r's rail and sound nice and thinks he knows everything). Are there any DECENT boxs that can be purchased cheaply?

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks for any help.

Alex

Q 1: Yes you hsould be able to fit a box for your Q in your Honda.....

Q 2: Yes a final load of 1 ohm

Q 3: Should be a good match for your sub..... you will probly see @ 1700 rms

Q 4: Never delt with him...just do a search of his name

Q 5: I would build it yourself.... You have to learn some time and you would have the satisfaction of knowng you did it yourself

Also do you plan on doing any electrical upgrades?

Fi Q's can be had new for a little more, and can be found in the classifieds on a somewhat regular basis.

If this guy has bad seller threads I wouldn't touch it.

Unless you can get another good member to be an intermediary, send a reputable member the money, get Hurricane to send the sub out and when you receive it Hurricane get's the money. Or get Hurricane to ship first.

Getting scammed is a reality here, so you gotta take care of yourself man.
