Make 2 channel amp mono without bridging?

I have a 2 channel amp which is bridgable but what i want to do is make both channels play at the same time without that stereo shifting left and right effect. So essentially i just want my right and left channel to play at the same time. My reason for this is to not over power my sub. For example my lead came off my sub in the box and i was out and about. So i hooked up the other one by itself on bridge mode and over powered it and blew it so i have one left. Until my new stuff gets here in the mail i need bass but running one sub off a left channel alone is pitiful but if tgat left and right channel were in sync then i wouldnt be over powering it and it would play like a mono block does. See what im sayin?!

I just want both the right and left channel to play at the same time as if maybe it were a to channel mono amp? Maybe i could do somethin with the rcas?

What is your headunit? What is your amp? Some headunits will allow you to switch output to mono. Some amps have a switch to feed both channels off of one rca input. Personally I would just run bridged and turn your gain down if you are blowing subs. Not a ton of reason to run any amp for sub duty with stereo input.

Bass information in music is already in mono (i.e. it is the same in the left and right signals). As long as your amp channels are low passed they are already putting out the same signal. There is nothing else for you to do.

Bridging didn't blow your sub. Incorrect gain setting and running them clipped probably did. Fix the real the source of the problem.

Okay, I'll bite. If you're going to get rear speakers, get the same ones (model type, doesn't have to be the same size) that you have up front...

I would keep the amp you have and keep the components. Place the components in some universal door pods, and look at getting a powered SAS 8"...

A 6 channel and a single sub amp would be my choice. Or a 2ch, 4ch and a sub amp. You don't need 2 channels for subs.

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
