Major System Redesign... Opinions

Well folks...

Thinking of this:

1. some 8" Seas woofs instead of 7" daytons, freeair in my doorz

2. my BG neo planar tweeters

3. Dayton xovers (don't know xover freq yet)

4. PPI A600.2 Art Series on the mids and highs (300 watts per channel)

5. two or three 8" Kicker Solo Barics in a 4 or 6 cube total 6th order bandpass (design courtesy of Tempe once I get him measurements) not sure if going with 2 or 3 woofers

6. Some random 600-1000 watt amp @ 2 ohms (PPI hopefully)

Tempe says the bandpass should get some mean and clean output from the 8's and I know that the output from the frontstage will kick ***...

What do you all think?

i wouldnt do 6th order

i would do 4th order because the roll off is not as steep and it will blend in pretty well with ur mids and highs depending on how its designed

I want some top notch SQL. Lots of output, plenty of low bass with flat response. I had 3 12" JL w6v1's sealed and they did not cut it. I believe this was partially due to they wanted more power, they were kind of thin sounding, they hurt your ears, and had hardly any tactile response. Or because my PPI PCX2200 might have some partially blown transistors from using it @2 ohms when I first bought it.

I have the 3 JLs, the 3 Kickers s8c model, a pair of 4 ohm 15" Orion NT2's, a DVC 4 ohm 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch HE2. Tempe (who I'm sure you know) thinks the 6th order will work for the 8's. He is my official box designer, whichever subs I get he is designing a box for em.

well the only problem i see with the 6th order box...no it all subs can be used in that box...and 2 ...there just like a ported box they unload at freqencies below tuning

I think I need a thread deticated to figuring out what I need to put in. I want a 10 or 12" W7 (or similar) but I have all these other subs laying around..

So far nope. I have a sony active x but I don't trust it.
