lowes carry any sound deadner????

i think most ppl are talking about the fact that peal and seal has almost no sound deadening qualities compared to something like dynamat ex.
Pretty much. I applied some to my bed floor yesterday, for the sole purpose of a buffer that would stop my fiberglassed MDF box from vibrating against the metal of the bed. I hardly noticed any difference as far as deadening went, but with my Damplifier Pro, I noticed a HUGE improvement.

It did get the job done for me, but that was for a completely different application than sound deadening, per se.

don't use cld to decouple

Take it from me. Peel and seal not only doesn't do anything for the application you want, it is also a ***** to work with in cars compared to the good deadeners. I used it merely to seal up between cabin and trunk for an IB install and I later regretted that.

I have used rubber undercoating, duplicolor UC 103, purchased at wally world with pretty good results in my dodge neon and the cans were pretty cheap.

egg

butyl pipe insulation will work, but some don't stick too well. its better to buy "good stuff" like dynamat and second skin, but whatever i've never had a problem with cheap stuff. i've used edead dynamat, peel and seel and different pipe insulation and all have worked to a degree

alum backed peel & seal has worked fine in my car for the past 2-3 years. Yes you do have to layer it thicker, but it's pretty inexpensive. used to be $10 a roll, but has gone up to $15.

Clean the surface and if the temp is cold use a hair dryer to heat it for a few seconds and it will stick fine. I have a black car and it's been on the underside of my trunk lid for 2+ years of hot summers/cold winters.

Not the best out there, but for the $$$ it can work fine...
