Lower drinking age to 18?

the drinking age is fine where it is. Remember, the drinking age used to be 18 in some states (learn your history folks) and it didn't work out too well. My teacher in middle school told me how some of his buddies died in a car accident because they went to PA to go drink (since the legal age was 18 there and 21 in Ohio). They literally never made it back home because they felt the need to drink. Besides, making the most addictive substance legal to an age range that is typically irresponsible will only cause more problems.

i'm willing to money saying majority of drunk drivers are over 21.
it wouldn't change anything, kids will still drink & still drive drunk. just like someone of age would.

of course they are

plus, anyone under 21 is gonna be guilty of dui with almost any amount of alcohol in their system

I would lower it just because I don't feel the government has any right to tell you what you can and cannot do w/ your body (as long as it does not harm another body, of course).

If people are irresponsible, they deserve to be and should be punished for it.

There are worse atrocities in this world that being 18 and not being able to drink. Kids act like idiots, alcohol increases the idiocy and its just a bad combo.

I've been through the days of drinking at that age. I know the stupidity that can result from minors and the booze. Its just not a good idea to make it a free for all for 18+

but what of the innocents killed in the overabundance of probable drunken drivers?

I believe that the dui rate among u21 persons would drastically increase if 18 yos could legally buy it

turn one of the most dangerous substances on the planet over to 18 year olds....i say raise the drinking age to 25

I read that they were trying to do this.....I dont remember if it was just NC or in general

bad idear until drinking is thought of as a right. getting blitz'd and actin a fool is a disappointment. look at germany for example. getting drunk is thought of as rude and inappropriate (sp).

hey im 18, and its not really a problem with me. But I can get it so easilly and dont drive drunk. Im smart in most cases when I drink. But like someone said its more enjoyable when you should be in trouble for it but you get away with it lol

im 18 and i got wasted last night but im smart enough to not drive. ppl that drink n drive are either bored where they are so him and there buddies go for a drive and **** around that DUMB but if you stay at a house and have fun with your friends and play beer pong then pass out it should change to 18 because if you can drink when your 18 its not as fun and it will get old. once you hit 21 you kinda dont drink as much cuz you can have it all the time ya dig.

No terrible idea, maybe if half the younger kids would mature up then it could happen, too many idiots would kill themselves and do dumb shit.
