Lower drinking age to 18?

you are considered an adult at the age of 18, right? so why then are you not allowed the same rights as most other adults?

definately dont need to lower it. Id almost be willing to say raise it also even though i just turned 21. Its a responsibility deal where most underage drinker doesnt have enough.

Would you rather be able to get booze and alot more people die from alcohol related accidents? Or you want it to stay where its at where its bad enough. but changing the age might not seem like it will change alot since people underage get booze all the time, but theres going to be more booze available for the youngyins thus making the alcohol related accidents increase.

I also want to add that Europe's drinking age is mostly 16 because a lotttt less people drive. It costs like 1000 just to get your license and it's an extremely difficult driver's exam. That's why they're allowed to drink. Less people to get killed drinking and driving.
Not everywhere. It's quite weird over here. Driving school is cheap, the exam is waaaay easy and the legal age for drinking is 18. Same for smoking and driving.

I know a few heavy drinkers that never take the car when they go out. Heck, I've seen one of them take the car and go out with the rest of the group only to stay sober all night.

Maturity and resposability are the problem. If they don't have it, you can set the legal age for drinking at 50 or 5 and you'd still see accidents caused by drunk drivers.

since that's exactly what i just said.....
I was being sarcastic...

Where are you?

And everywhere had dump people...

As most people have already said, theres really no point, and it would probably do more good than bad. Honestly, if you want to drink then go off to some college somewhere after highschool (which, magically is around the age of 18) and have yourself a good time. That usually gets it out of your system. At least it did for me.

the age limit does nothing around here...specially since any school in the area can get any alchohol from quite a few local suppliers including me. being in this position i know that the age limit does absolutely nothing, considering on any given friday ill have $500 orders ranging from beer to grey goose. last night was winter ball (big school dance) and every single person i talked to was drunk or high. i actually went completely sober(not big on being drunk in front of the administration). there's a time and a place for everything and most kids dont get that. be more responsible and your chances of doing something stupid go down.
