Low power sub selection

Still trying to decide what sub to use for my home setup, have 16" x 25" x 26" of space to play with, and 250W at 4 ohms.

Thinking along the lines of Adire Shiva, Type-R, etc, etc...

any others?

help me narrow this down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Shiva sounds good, tempest sounds even better, although i'm not sure of box sizes. Maybe also dual koda8's. THe shiva would do a killer job with that power though, so I think regardless you'd be satisfied.

dual koda 8's would be tough to swing with the impedance config's...at least in single fours.

shiva would fit perfectly, impedances would match too...just not sure what box size to use.

i would say the tempest.....

or if money isn't a big issue..check into http://www.soundsplinter.com mke's line of subs can be used for home audio as well.....and if u get an rl-p, u get either d2 or d4..so impedence shouldn't be a problem..email mike@soundsplinter.com and he'll be able to answer those questions better..

also, the tulmult is supposed to be the best..

Two single 4 ohm coils would work perfect for home audio actually....most reveivers rate their power at 8 ohms because it allows for less signal distortion.
but the parts express plate amp i'll be using does max RMS at four ohms...

and to finally say this...I don't have room for a Tempest! I'd get one if I could, but I simply don't have the room! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

and i can't use a tumult b/c:

it's a 15, same reason as the tempest

takes too much power

way too loud for my needs

way too expensive

and i'm a colllege student, so yes, money is a huge issue.

soundsplinter...lol...

check em out jack...hehe

or the shiva..

My brother just picked up the Shiva in a ported box. It runs of a 200 Watt Profile amp. It's loud enough to make your ears hurt. I don't see how people run so much power with multiple subs for non competition use.

hehe...well, the tempest might be in the works //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif have to work out the enclosure design first though.

a 15 in a dorm room, ****, who am i kidding...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i'm crazy, aren't i...
