low output?

Alright, so I just got my new system in (see below), and I went to install it today on my old 4 gauge amp kit i've had in there for two years. Wired the subs down to 1 ohm, and I was rushing this morning before leaving and I've been trying to install for a couple days now. Being the idiot I am, I forgot to do the most important step of removing the negative battery terminal. So I have everything plugged in, the remote wire, the ground for the amp, speaker wire to the subs, last thing is the 4 guage power wire into the amp. I go to plug it in and it sparks. I pull it away immediatly and figured I just blew my fuse, and (which i probably shouldn't have done thinking about it) connected the power wire, this time it didn't spark. I turn on the system and the subs are moving just a tiny bit, small enough to the point where i only can feel it with my fingers and not see it, and they are barely making any noise. I didn't have time to check my fuses before leaving and I just got back, and just wanted see if that's what you guys think it is. I realize there's a good chance I blew my amp in which case I realize I deserve for forgetting to disconnect my battery =\.

Also:

I played with my settings on the amp, and it doesn't increase the volume at all, fiddled with head unit settings. I kept everything below half way points because I didn't want to risk anything before i actually tune my gains perfectly.

I'm getting TONS of engine noise/alt whine. I ran a 12L7 off this same wiring less than a couple months ago and I never had any noise. Now i'm getting tons, and the subs aren't getting any output more than a few vibrations. Fuses or amp do you think?

I did do that.
YOU DIRTY MAN!!!

lol j/p

eh, try changing out the rca's? how good is that ground? might wanna check that....could just be a bad amplifier, get a warranty on it? are you getting the alt noise through the door speakers as well as the subs? or just the subs?
