//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Well i jumped my car 2 days ago and went to start it today and it wouldnt even crank. Its needed one, but i left it alone. I have no amp in there noe, but soon i will have a hifonics 1606d @ 1 ohm, so around 1600 watts. My question is will i need a deep cycle, or could i just buy the cheap walmart/sams club brands? Will they get the job done if im not going to be playing it while the cars off. And my car has a stock 140a alternator:naughty: also, if that helps.

Thanks

get a decent battery... yellow top is nice since it wont ever die....
eh, no, every battery has a life span, every battery can be drained.

but yes, an optima yellow top is a decent choice, there are a few that are better out there, but they are slim pickins.

did you try charging that battery in your vehicle now overnight? because jumping it doesn't just magically give it a full charge again....

NSB90 FTW......probably way out of your price range is you are considering a wal-mart battery but wrth a look.
and now no longer sold w/o PROOF you work in telecom if you buy direct from Northstar:crazy:

good batts though. Nomad40 is selling his.

I like yellow top for sure. I remember tuning my system in the afternoon and for some stupid reason I had the a/c running as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif Well needless to say after an hour or so my deck keeps flashing, i was like wtf. I couldnt crank it for about five times and was pissed. After ten minutes I was about to switch over my old battery when I tried one last crank and voila! I thought I read somewhere that optima saves enough for one crank when your battery is low.

Im almost positive my batterys dead. Every time I started it recently, it would barely turn over. Plus when i had old profile amp(300 wattsx1 @ 4ohms) I had quite a bit of dimming, and the gains were set properly. Would a Walmart battery do fine if I only play the stereo when the car is running? I dont really have the money for an optima or deep cycle? And im not sure if it matters, but i need a GM side mount battery also.

Thanks

i can pick up the biggest yellow top for 120 where my cuzin works all day long.
I am talking 150 canadian not us.

So the blue tops should be no more then 100us @ walmart.

120 for the yellow top @ your cuz's work because you are getting his discount not all of us have that option.

actually that was pre discount //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif thats with just trading in your old battery...lol, plus i can get a 20% discount on it

I just got back. I went to sams club and walmart. Sams had a powerstart, i think, deep cycle for like 70 bucks, but it was marine and didnt have side posts. Walmart has everready maxx ones for like $63, and they dont seem to be bad. I think it was like 690 CCA and like 109 reserve or something.. I think thatll do fine.

seems like ur not listening to everyones suggestions bro. everyone is trying to suggest a really good investment for you, and it seems like all you want to buy is the WAL MART OR SAMS CLUB Battery. If u think u want that instead, then go with the wal mart battery. You will get what u pay for.

especially when in the future your gonna be feeding 1600w.

I know, its just i dint have the money for an optima right now at all, considering im going to be buying my type-r's soon and I can barely fit them in my budget. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Im poor...........The thing is i see a lot of posts saying that they abuse thet hell out of their cheap batteries and they stand up fine. How much of a difference will an optima make if im not going to be playing while the cars off? The cheapest Ive seen is 120 for a red top. If anybody knows where theyre cheaper, shoot.

Thanks

EDIT- I forgot to ask, how would i check my battery? I have a dmm, so would i just touch the red to the posative terminal and the black to the negative, or to the ground spot? Also what voltage should i be looking for?
