3 10s would be much louder but that one 15 can hit the low lows betta.

FALSE! throw an 18" in a box a little too small and see how it doesnt "hit the lows" like you say a bigger sub will do. trust me, been there done that.

its going to be dependent on the install and the amp. (box size and tuning, vehicle, and amplifiers dampening factor)
