Youll need a good bit of electrical backup for 4500w. Probably about 4-5 batteries off that stock alt.

Well I completely forgot about the AQ 3500D so im guessing still a couple batts.

An SPL setup with a stock alt? People do that all the time. They just charge the hell out of their battery bank in between runs through the lanes. If the stock alt wont recharge enough between passes, you'll need to invest in an external charging setup.
But, knowing this forum and its inhabitants, you dont really want an 'SPL' setup, you want a daily beater that gets loud. In which case, Im bored with this thread already.

150 amp alternator should be able to power a fairly loud system. If you want to get the most wattage out of your available juice supply get a really efficient amp. That's why I say DD M3. I believe someone on her fit 2 15s in a caddy. I don't know how big his trunk is compared to yours.

I was able to run 2 15"s sealed, I think ill than likely go with 12"s though.

Your getting to in depth dude, im sorry I mean SPL geared because im sure if I wouldn't included that term you would have said "what type of setup".

A "daily beater" could have SQ or SPL gear in it.

ive got a super "beater" system in my little *** vette.

and basicly - have only good things to say about REsx series sub.

I have the 18"

and it sounds great - to a point - then after that its all out spl.

musicly - the sub will play loud and clean up to about 75% of what it can take.

that last 25% of it just shakes your freekin gutts out. -

first system ive ever had like that. - it basicly doesnt even seem like music anymore at that point - just an 8.0 earthquake going off in your car.

o - im only feeding my 18 about 1050rms watts. off the stock 120a alt

and a single yellow top up front. im adding a kenetik 800 in the rear to help

with voltage drop from about 75% power and above. but for daily beating

and driving around - I keep a steady 13.5 voltage when playing music loudly.

but all out spl all the way cranked - I drop to the 12s - hoping the Knetick 800 will

help stop that.

id also say - that a sick *** box design is going to help you get further to where you

wana b - vs - wich exact sub you pick out. as there are tons of good stuff out now

so as long as you dont get some x plodes, or something extremely crap like that

its basicly going to focus on box design - and how it will integrate sound from the trunk

to the interior side of your car. 60% sub 40% dope *** box.

So if you all didn't have a budget but could not upgrade your alternator in your trunk car what setup would you all run? (SPL setup)
Im looking for new ideas, im tired of my old system. My 8" RF P2's are up for sale they are like new, pm me for more info. I change systems like every other month.

3. 4 Hifonics Sampsons

4. lots of batteries

5. spare recones
