LOUDEST setup possible, help me out? Hummer H3 **have fun with this**

would it be louder to do 3 18's (Mach 5 MJ-18's) on 1500w, or 2 18's on the same 1500w? I understand there would be one less sub, but would more power for 2 = more spl?

There's too many variables to really be able to tell. Subs/power do not tell the whole story...box design/placement is key.

usually adding woofers makes it louder even if there on the same power as long as there installed correctly. IIRC 2x cone area = +6db but 2x watts only = +3db. you can spec the box a little larger than recommended as well to gain a little extra efficiency.

2 Critical Mass UL12s or 2 15 DD 9515s would be sick! The UL12s will get f-ing loud and sound good doing it. And the 9515s are just great SPL subs. Both are a bit pricey but well worth it.

i say go for it and if your not satisfied try only running 2 of them. then if that makes you happy you have a slightly used 18" for sale you will probably only lose $75 on it if you find a good deal.

if i was you id go with 2 mach audio MJM subs ported tuned around 32 hz and use about 10 to 12 cubes and get a sundown 1500 or better yet find a kicker kx1200.1 they usually birth around 1300 to 1500

you can fit about 12 funky pups back there off a sundown 3k should be the loudest possible.

the loudest setup is 6 12'' audioque HDC3s, 3 hifonics sampsons (they'll do an easy 8k @ 1 ohm) and then powermaster batteries (and an alternator). Thats an easy $9000 for all that.

box inside measurments 39 wide 29 deep and hight is your call per airspace but 12 -12 powerbass 3xl or a fi in a clam shell with 3 4000d would take i 300 amp alt and 5 2400 batterys but you have the room!

I just spoke with him and he really likes the idea of 2 18" MJ's off 1200-1500w.

I know it's 2 18's, but will the MJ's really be all that loud?
