Loud Type R in DBDRAG Setup???

il just say what they did 152.0 flat one time and then from their a 150.4 in my a setup took them out and tinsil lead or coil was gone they werent mine a freind who works at a shop let me borrow them he said it was a tinsil lead but oh well not what i was looking for.

i havent had a chance to see what my dds do at anything lower then 1.5 strapped so i am not sure if they are louder and i wouldnt be amazed if hte alpines are louder. but i bet the dds will hold together longer i just think dd's werent meant for low notes thus the reason right now im sub less i still dont know what subs im gonna run thinking of going solo x's

I know what you mean. I'm only doing a 154+ in DBDRAG Street A...but I guess it doesn't matter...since it doesn't count in MECA? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Wow, that was fast, Type-R Ridarz to the rescue.
I never said you said it, but I guess you feel the need to stick up for the godlike Type-R.

Single 10" type-r, orion 2500d (1 ohm): 150.9 @ 44 hz - Thats all I would be questioning in this thread...
You implied that somebody said it.

Vids are in the making.

But just to give you something to **** on for now...

Tom Kaczmarczyk is my name.

Notice i won "phat 10" and 1st place in S1 with a 150.9.

Guess what that means. I had the loudest single 10" at the show, and a score of 150.9.

Question no longer asshat.

Why are you posting in this thread again? Experience with the R's?

I've tried everything. Every sizes for sealed from 0.75 - 3.0 cf sealed. Ported in all sizes and all tuning frequencies...anywhere from 1.5 - 4.0 tuned to 35 hz. 90% of my customers love low bass. And for some odd reason...when I swap them out for RE SE's or even JL w3's...them seem to like it a whole lot more. I had a guy using a pair of 12's Type R in his mustang with a 4.0 cf box tuned to 35 hz on a pair powered by a RE 12.1 amplifier. He came back a week later...subs are burnt. Swapped it out for a brand new pair...and the same thing happened. Swapped it out for a pair of SE's and he was fine. He already has an upgraded battery and alternator...no clipping. And this is just one of many many cases that I've tried the type R's with. Believe me...I'm not bias towards any company especially since we're an Alpine dealer and would want nothing more than to see the Alpines to perform well. Also...I've built over 300 boxes in my lifetime and I'm sure it's not the boxes. Maybe I just have better luck with different subs?

I used to have an SE and absolutely hated it. I switched it out for an seXXX (the modded SE) and was AMAZED at the much better power handling vs. the plain SE. Not to mention that i thought the seXXX sounded better, IMO.

The R smoked the seXXX in my SPL setup, both in power handling and SPL.

If you are smoking type-rs with only ~500 RMS per woofer, something has got to be up.

i think the type r is a good sub for its price and has alot of potential but just dont go crazy like i did and feed a pair 8,000 watts lol theirs alot of subs out their that alot of us havent tested that are very capable of getitng loud.

has anyone heard of the bravox edx? a freind let me borrow a pair of twelves never tested them went to a show was expecting a 145 or something my dds where doing a 150.4 with a pair of mmats at .5 the bravox ran the mmats at 1 ohm each so less power but to my surprise i got a 149.5 that day and i was like wtf wow. and with a little tunning and testing i got a pair to do a 150.1 off one mmats d3000.1 at .5.

take in mind type r's are way cheap my freind said if i wanted to keep them just give me 150 for hte pair shiit ive been looking for solo x's and cheapest ive found them through a freind was 400 each. and it costed me just recently 406 to recone my pair of dd9510's

ps shit i just noticed after going through my book of testing ive done in hte past the dd's arent as loud as i tought. hmmmm i think its probably cause i burp such a low note its always been between 45-48 hertz anything higher or lower my score drops big time 50 to 48 hertz i gain .9

Random TCAB question. Are they just CRX style boxes?

Most i seen under the ports so i just assumed thats all there is to them.

Oh and i have a 15" type-r coming in Thurs gonna make a thread with it facing off against my 15"XXX.

Videos and Termlab testing,whole 9 yards.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

XXX IS GOING TO OWN ALPINE.LOL,NOT EVEN A FAIR COMPETITION

Even for a daily driver. One of my customer came in TODAY and we swapped out 2 Type R 12's for 2 12w3v3's and they rocked the Type R's off of 1000 watts in a sealed box in an escalade.
Believe me...I've tried everything for the Type R's...but they just don't perform. I have a pile of Type R's sitting in the corner at our shop because none of our guys like them and neither does our customers. Yet I keep seeing great posts about them. I just don't get it. It can't be me...can it?

so does this mean you're willing to part with them cheap?

so you only gain a tenth from the car on (~14v) to a 16v system?
Car on/off is a pretty healthy difference.
Actually, i think mark has done some testing with car on/off and really didn't lose much. Couldn't have been more than .5

Not really sure if that was in the blazer or the monte though.

in my monte... .1... 2 workaholics, 2 kicker dx700's, tightly regulated.

Also had one bat with the atek 4000... I remember it being over a DB difference car on/car off... but it was only one blue top - and I have a 200 amp alt in there.

in the blazer, I have no idea, never bothered with the car off.

1 bat dbdrag setup... especially if there is a monster alt... car on will help quite a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

10 bat stock alt setup... car on probably won't make much matter.
