Loud Type R in DBDRAG Setup???

I don't care about how great people claim the Alpine Type R's are....has anybody done a good number in DBDRAG? I don't want to know scores in any other organization but DBDRAG. I've tried the Type R's....and they can't handle the power. I tried 8 different setups and even in my customer's cars...most of them didn't like it.

So...who has actually done good numbers?

nonono...the people that use R's in MECA always complain that to compete in dB Drag you need 15bijillion watts and 8 million dollars...

type R's are ghey unless you're playing under 40hz....

Are they just CRX style boxes?

Most i seen under the ports so i just assumed thats all there is to them.

Oh and i have a 15" type-r coming in Thurs gonna make a thread with it facing off against my 15"XXX.

What kind of power?

R's are low note woofers. /story

So for MOST db drag setups, they won't work well at all. They can take a pretty decent amount of power (I burp my 10" on a clamped 1500 RMS, and the larger sizes can take more than that), but that's also at a fairly low note, 44 hz.

They would hold their own in bassrace, but as for straight SPL in db drag, they wouldn't fair very well. Depending on the vehicle anyways.

The one thing to remember here is a cost-performance ratio. While they are not the best SPL subs out there, they really cannot be beat for the money.

Well they won a World Finalist Title so....i dont see how you can say that....the IL team phat hertz ran pretty much all type R last season, and they almost got team of the year....they have dominated this year so far around here...They are the most dominate team this year so far...and they were last year, so I dont see wher eyou get off saying that BOLLLLLLLD statement.

Even for a daily driver. One of my customer came in TODAY and we swapped out 2 Type R 12's for 2 12w3v3's and they rocked the Type R's off of 1000 watts in a sealed box in an escalade.

Believe me...I've tried everything for the Type R's...but they just don't perform. I have a pile of Type R's sitting in the corner at our shop because none of our guys like them and neither does our customers. Yet I keep seeing great posts about them. I just don't get it. It can't be me...can it?
