I'm using the VX9800 (The V) from verizon, they put built in MP3 player and video recorder, but for some reason u cant use MP3's for ringtones (probably cuse they want u to buy the ringtones with money) but if u make a ringtone by convertin part of an MP3 to wave file u can put it into the system directory on ur cellphone (which u can access with BitPM) and then use custom made Ringtones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Also they made it so u can't watch movies from the Mini SD card either, but with BitPM u can "hack" it so it thinks w/e movie or video u put on the card was actually recorded by the phone so u can watch it that way. I had full episodes of simpsons and stuff on it. Only sux that my phone only reads up to 1 Gig of Mini SDwhat kind of hacks?
im never amazed by the way verizon tries to **** its customers. im so glad i left that piece of shit company in the dust. but im glad you found away around their scandalous bullshit.I'm using the VX9800 (The V) from verizon, they put built in MP3 player and video recorder, but for some reason u cant use MP3's for ringtones (probably cuse they want u to buy the ringtones with money) but if u make a ringtone by convertin part of an MP3 to wave file u can put it into the system directory on ur cellphone (which u can access with BitPM) and then use custom made Ringtones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Also they made it so u can't watch movies from the Mini SD card either, but with BitPM u can "hack" it so it thinks w/e movie or video u put on the card was actually recorded by the phone so u can watch it that way. The program pretty much allows u to customize any cell phone that u can get connected to the computer, u just gotta look up differnt things u can do with ur phone
Ya cept for that stuff I love the reception I get, I've had AT&T (before it was Cingular) then Cingular, T-mobile. Verizon by far the best. Reception wise lol I heard the little thing with 0.02 cents //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gifim never amazed by the way verizon tries to **** its customers. im so glad i left that piece of shit company in the dust. but im glad you found away around their scandalous bullshit.
ya took thew bat out and let it dry overnight......... but it was too late.... no sim card on meh phone, and alltel and motorola **** a dick....that's the funniest vent I have seen-- sig worthy
did you already try to turn the phone on with it being "wet?" That's the worst thing you can do-- always take the Batt out IMMEADIATLY and remove covers, cases, whatever comes off ..then let it sit for 48-72+ hours on a dry napkin or in a sealed container/bag with those little packets that come with electronics to keep the moisture out.. I cant think of the name -- silica??? dunno.
(p.s... SIM cards are just little electronic chips-- as long as you don't bend, cut or break them or scratch the gold contacts they will survive)
how ironic.... I am developing another side of my business (with a business partner) in direct relation to this very same thing... we are going to be able to store SIM card information in a secure Site that requires a bar code and user password to access. We are going to start with Cingular and T- Mobile (sim card phones) and progress to standard digital phones like Verizon, Sprint, Etc. (getting all the adaptors, cords and programs will be an investment $$$) One small monthly fee gives you unlimited access to update or D/L your contact info and it CANNOT be "cracked" or stolen by anyone BUT you! Not even we will have the access. .we will just be providing the safe and secure storage.
When I worked for the cell phone company we received a ridiculous amount of calls about this... at that time the SideKick was the only one with this capability through the Danger SK site.
sorry to hear you lost the contacts... encourages me to get this developed...
