Good start....how much do u have for an enclosure? You'll need a good enclosure to make any sub worth it.

how would i know what enclosure to get with my sub.... i was just gonnna get one off amazon but i guess that isn't a good idea... lets say i get the alpine sub... where can i find out what type of enclosure i need

The Pioneer Pro Champion Series 12 sounds like a good sub for you. It's affordable, and quite the performer for it's price.

dont buy a pre made sub box. do you want a sealed box, a ported box, bandpass box etc. there is some good people here that if there close to you im sure they can help build you a box for what ever sub you get.

The issue with "prefab" enclosures are they are not built for what most want. They are typically not that great in quality or with the specs they claim. What I mean by that is the net air space, port area, and tuning are almost always never what they claim. Most are tuned high and in most cases are not what most want from their enclosures. It will "work" but it won't "get the job done" as you put it.

The enclosure will be determined by the sub you select, power, and the actual car to ensure you get the correct performance.

Here is something you can do that will help. Go to your car and look at the back, and decide what amount of space you would be willing to give up for an enclosure. Measure the H x W x D and post it up. We should be able to give you a good idea of what subs will work decently well given the space allowed and your goals.

With such limited idea of what goes into a system the best bet is to go measure the area as I suggested and we can help you out with letting you know what we think are some good options.

Well, I would say when you can go measure it out. You will get the best results with all of the info available. Instead of just buying what ever you find or that looks good. You can make an informed decision on facts that can be provided to you once we have the required information. No sense in buying things multiple times just because you are in a hurry.

THIS^^. Take your time. I'm not saying that the type R is a bad choice but you are way early in the game to be picking a sub. Trust me I have made this mistake before. I have spent thousands extra out of being in a hurry and not researching what I actually want/ need.

I think the best thing you could do would be to read around these forums for a month or 2 with the intent to learn and absorb knowledge, and you will be able to make a much more informed question, and we will be able to help you out more.

I had to but that in bigger font because it appears you only read every third post or so, I hope that gets your attention.
