Looking for subs that get loud and low SEALED

In the planning stages of new system. I am looking for ideas on subs that can get loud and low in a sealed box. I would say probably 2 12's but maybe 3 10's or ??. Power can be anywhere between 500-2000. What #'s are you guys hitting with sealed setups?

Alpine Type-X!!! Only if you can get 'em cheap though, cuz they aren't worth the FULL price some people charge (crutchfield)...If you go sealed, with 2k wrms, make sure your box can handle it!

The cones make this "plat plat" sound on the lows from my experience

Another vote for RE SE's. I have a 12" in a rather small .88 cubes running off about 700 watts that hits really good.

IDMax's are also really good.

Yes, but SQ competition generally is conducted with output in the mid 120 db level. Plenty of less than ideal subs can sound excellent at that low of volume levels. The real creme of the crop subs begin to shine at listening levels beyond that point. Many SQeers will say they test at this volume level because above that is not SQ, or cant be labeled as SQ, but Im guessing the OP will want to crank his system above 126 db. Id leave the L series, and pretty much all square subs where they belong, in SPL and/or SQL setups (leaning towards SPL).

In sealed settings, linear excursion (xmax) rules all. So barring non-production subs like the Parthenon, there is a clear dominate sub in the xmax wars.... RE XXX. But they are expensive, and require relatively large boxes. You wont be running 3 of them, no matter what size, unless you own a minivan or larger. If a single XXX does not sound appealing to you, the next level down from that would be the older version XXX's, Brahma's, W7's, etc... all in the upper 20mm to low 30mm xmax category. Below that, there are tons of mid 20mm xmax subs on the market today that would work well also.
