Looking for SQ from RE

I was looking at RE products and i was wondering which one is best for an SQ setup. I was looking at the XXX series .. or maybe the SX series .. thinking of putting either 2 12's or 2 10's of either one.

my friends sx sounds pretty nice...i think the xxx is geared more towards SQ though.

SX is more SPL oriented, go with SE if your on a budget, XXX if u got enough money

Re doesnt make a XXX 10 anymore and the XXX is a SQL sub not even SQ at all, look at the RE and SE lines for more SQ

Honestly for SQ i wouldn't choose RE. Their subs sound decent, but are more geared towards SPL.

I used to have RE SE's... Had 2 12's ported and then i sold 1 and made a sealed box for the other. Sounded MUCH better sealed, but still not a SQ sub. I have also heard a XXX in a buddies car.

You're better off with a JBL W12Gti, w6v2, an IDQ for pure SQ. You could also look into an Fi Q, SI Magnum D2, IDMax if your looking for some more output.

hmmm ... so SQ isnt a quality that RE has .. which brand is known for best SQ but also has some BAWLS!

i have a couple RE re 12's that i think sound good....there's better of course...but for the price they used to be they're not bad

im thinking maybe try some FI's i want some shiney bottoms .. maybe build a enclosure myself but .. i would need some tools .. lol

They are decent. There are better sq subs for the price, but for a good mix of spl and sq they do very well.

than a XXX? Wow, boners FTW XXX would do fine for a SQ sub, I've been told they sound just like brahmas from people who've compared both, in which case it will be fine. Most intalls XXX's are in AREN'T SQ oriented. Which is probably the issue. Frankly a sub with 34mm of xmax and a linear tech. is the very definition of SQL in my book. Try a smallish box, aim for a qtc of .9 or so, none of that ported at 30hz bs, which is where I'd say the XXX get's it's not quite a SQ sub rep from. You'll need quite a bit of power though. A clean 1500-2000 watts would be ideal. Other good options are IDMAX (personal fave), w6's, FI Q, RL-P, brahma IV.
