Looking for some 5x7's

I just picked up some Eclipse Aluminum 10's and I'm going to be running around 900 watts to them. I drive a Focus so I have 5x7/6x8 speakers. I'm looking to upgrade them. Question is how much power do I need to run through some 5x7's to hang with the 10's? I've got an old Kenwood KAC-645 amp that runs 25x4, but I'm thinking that isn't going to be enough juice. I also have an old school 2 channel Punch 200ix. Should I take my 4 channel and run it 2 channel to the rears and run the Punch to the fronts? I'd really like to not have to run 3 amps though. Any ideas guys?

Thanks,

Dillon

I have a almost new set of Pioneer REV 5x7/6x8's for sale in the for sale section...I ran a set in my Focus when I had it they sounded great...I put that set in my F150 and they still sound great....I've tried many different brands and you can't beat these

So in this case I'm better off running my Punch at 100 watts per channel at 4 ohm to the fronts and the Kenwood at 70 watts per channel at 4 ohm to the rears?

Yea that'd be fine but just watch your gains if u go with the I'd's because they only handle 75 watts rms. I read some reviews on them and they got great reviews. I'm getting my brother 2 sets for his truck for christmas.

They make adapters to let a 6.5" round fit in a 5"x7" or 6"x8" opening. Just a suggestion. May broaden your possibilities.

Oh...and wasn't there a thread the other day about dealercostcaraudio? Not sure....but I think there was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I've got some old Eclipse 6 1/2's in the car front and back right now. I just managed to make them fit. I've thought about going and finding some adapters for them, but I'm not sure they can handle the power I'm looking at throwing at them. I'll pull one of the door panels off and get the model number in the next couple days. Just thought I'd replace them with speakers that were meant to be in that spot. But maybe just picking up some nice 6 1/2 coaxils for all 4 speakers and some adapters is the way to go. Will I have more luck finding some 6 1/2's that can handle about 100 watts be thrown at them for around $100.00?

The MB Quart speakers are very harsh and lack SQ. MB is no longer made in Germany by the origianl company, they are now made in china by the owners of Hifonics.

I would suggest the Image Dynamics coaxils, very good sounding speakers.

I didn't know that about MB. Thanks for all the info guys. I'll let you all know what I decide on soon. Just got my box plans so I'm getting closer and closet to puting this whole thing together.
