Working budget of 150-200 right now. That could change if I can find more $$ later on down the road. Vehicle is 1998 s10 ext cab p/u. Speaker locations top dash are 4x6, doors are 6.5". I can either A) buy a nice set of 4x6's and 6.5" coaxial's, or B) buy a 6.5" comp set and I would have to modify the doors a little to put the tweets just above each mid. And perhaps some 4x6's anyway...or just remove the stock ones.

Seeking ideas/suggestions on the best route to go.

These sound **** good. Just contact a American bass dealer for better prices. My buddy gets pair of the sq 6.5s for like $35 shipped. He has never blown one and they get loud n sound good. He has some on the American bass sq 1200 and some on a American bass mini 4ch.

Ditch the 4x6. Do components in the doors. Be done with it

I had some 4" coax speakers I mounted up top

Got them for $20 years ago and they do well up top

A lot of sound from those little speakers when mounted up there

But I agree with comps and be done if you have a strict budget
