need help/opinion

I just recently bought a new(to me) car and all but one speaker do not work im thinking about replacing them and just wiring them to a seperate amp..my question is what brand is good for speakers and what brand/watt amp should i get.

the car is an 06' cobalt coupe and also how difficult is it to remove the rear deck lid speakers i looked in the trunk and it looks like they are mounted topside

any help or feedback would be awesome..

whats your bedget and goals.

IE 400 bucks will get you some DECEENT low line speakers and a amp

800 will get you midend that will rival some of the best soudning drivers you have heard

about 1600 will get you mid blowing sound quatitly and output that will have you sitting in the car in the front yard listen to every track and tracks you never listend to for hours on end..

BTW i recommend a good CD player to replace the factory POS unit..

I used to have a decent knowledge about this stuff 10+ years ago but its been a while and i know how what was the best back then may not be the best now..i just put a jvc double din head unit in..im just looking for something to give it a crisper full sound..ive gone to other forums and they made me feel dumb for not knowing alot

whats your budget for speakers and an amp? that'll help determine what brands you should be looking for

determine what size you need as well
