looking for good 6.5 comps

So how do you like the PRS amps?? I have 2 - 720s, 2 - 320s and 2 - 340s. One 720 and one 320 are waiting on deck at the moment. I love those amps.
But my highest rated birth sheet for my 720s is 244 rms @ 4 ohms. Do your

60s run at 2 ohms or something.??
Yea, the Pro60's run at a 3 ohm load. I have had three X720's, and this one X320 and I love them to death, I seriously will not buy another type of amp now. Only one of my X720's had a birthsheet and it says 240 wattsx2 @ 4ohms. So it's one of the weaker ones, I have seen a birthsheet for a X720 putting out 843 at 4 ohms mono.. How much do you know about the PRS amps? Many people are not aware that they are actually 2 ohm optimized and put out outrageous power at 2 ohms.

I also don't have to tell you how they sound pushing my Pro60's and CVRs off of my 880PRS. I may be the ultimate SQL car, my Epicenter thinks so... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Are you running a 720 bridged on a sub with a 2 ohm load?? I've heard of the 720s being capable but Pioneer will still NOT recommend this. My buddy is an installer for a Premier dealer and the rep told him they could run @ 2 ohms but not for hours and hours on end. Also the rep said they would not waranty them if you blew them, which doesn't matter to me since all my PRS amps are out of waranty now anyway. Any other info you have on these I would appreciate it.

BTW. My highest rated (actual) 720 was also exactly 843 watts @ 4ohms mono and 244/channel in 4ohm stereo. I bet a 720 in 3 ohm stereo with the Boston Pro 60s would be a perfect match.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Yea man, I have been using them for a few years at 2 ohm mono loads, probably 80% @ 2ohms mono. Get a bit warm but handle it perfectly, some 720's do seem to like it more than others, but that's the nature of a Class A/B beast.

Of course, A/B amps are also very CLEAN, unlike today's Class D's which MURDER sound quality.

Actually the only reason I own an X320 now is because my Bostons couldn't handle the output. The cones wern't even visible it was moving them so hard... The overall noise level was incredible, but just too much power. They seem to really love the X320. I have to say, using the same amps for high and lows leaves the music seamless. In case you find it useful here's what I have setup right now.

DEH-P880PRS

PRS-X720 (2 ohms)

PRS-X320 (3 ohms)

BX-10

Boston Pro60's

2x12" CVR, 30hz 2.4 cubic feet ea.

Excellent choice on the SSA Evil's. :)

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
