As far as being *****, im newish to car audio and i guess its a learning experience. I should have stayed on the forums here and gotten some knowledge b4 jumping in head first. My fault and now im paying for it.

600 spent in the classifieds here would have you banging, bro. a sundown/aq/skar/Memphis/etc,etc amp, a beast sub and some used wire plus a killer box design from one of the pros here. Yep...

If I had to pick out about a $600 based off of gear in the ca.com classifieds.... It would be something like this.

edit: and i can already see some complaining about the sub needing more power, but I can't imagine that it would be bad thing for a beginner to have some headroom.

I appreciate all the feedback. you guys are the pros and im trying to absorb everything being said. And ya, im a noob when it comes to this stuff. From what i have now, i want to keep the sub just so i feel i didnt make an overall bad investment. Imma return the amp and get something different. I need to find a person to build a sub in the san diego area.

You mean build a box(enclosure), right? Because people here do build subs, lol... Anyways, what are you looking to spent on a new amp for it? There are some great, cheap, mono amps around here. Also, what is your current power wire? If the shop you went to put it in, and they sold you a 200 watt amp for your sub, I can only imagine.....

yes, it would... but not for the money. If all you need is 500 watts at 2 ohms, there are lots of less expensive options that will get you just as good results.

What are you looking to spend for the Amp OP?

For the price this little Amp is great, although I wouldn't want to run it as a Sub amp but it can and will get the job done and it has a built in fan.
