Looking for a new Sub

Well for almost a year now i've been running a pair of 10" polk audio GNX104's powered by an alpine MRD-M300 amp. I'm looking for a nice sub to replace my 2 10's and was thinking about the alpine type-s. A single 12" or a single 10" type S, probably the 10" since i'm limited in height for the box. Anyone know if the a single type S running off my alpine amp (300w RMS) would hit harder than my current set up which has each sub getting only 150w a piece? I'd like to get a single sub and port the box since my current setup is sealed. I was looking at the type-r's but they're rated at 500w RMS. Any other ideas?

I know the AA Atlas runs well around 300 watts, but I'm not sure how available they are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

hmm... i'd go with a single 12 and port it... with only 300rms to use i'm not sure wut to offer :/ do the re re's come in 12's???
[yes] the motor to basket ratio looks ridiculous though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ...

*runs before the ever ensuing re wagon crushes me*

I was also thinking about last year's model type-r since that runs at 300w rms. I'd like to get and RE sub, but i'd rather not go through the internet, the alpine i can atleast get here. Any info on the type-s/older type-r? Those are the two subs i'm really leaning towards right now. I know for a fact my amp would work well with both since both are rated at 300w rms and my amp puts that out.

I was also thinking about the new type-r. It's rated at 500w rms, is pushing 300w underpowering it by to much?
